Assisted Living Facility in Lakeland Receives Flowers From Elder Law Firm

On June 9, The Elder Law Firm of Clements and Wallace P.L. spent the day delivering flowers to the residents of Lake Morton Plaza, an assisted living facility located at 400 South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, FL.  I had the pleasure of being one of the staff participating in this public service.

We began on the top floor, not really knowing what to expect. We weren’t sure how thrilled people would be to have strangers knocking on their doors in the middle of the day. However, all of our worries were immediately put to rest after the first visit. She was one of the sweetest women I have ever met. She invited us into her room and began shuffling books and knick knacks around, trying to find the perfect place for her new flowers. She thanked us over and over for the kind gesture and continually told us how touched she was to have such nice people working right down the street. As we left to head to the next resident, she asked us if we would be coming back to visit again. At that moment, I knew that this was an appreciated service to the elderly.

Almost every other resident had the same gracious and warm attitude towards our gift. Word spread quickly throughout the building and soon we had multiple residents from lower floors asking when we would be stopping by their rooms. We delivered approximately 100 vases of flowers to the residents of Lake Morton Plaza that day. Being able to witness the joy that a small vase of flowers brought to these residents was touching. I am so glad I was able to participate in this experience and will continue to be a part of this service in the future.
